to know the version number. Novell ships ocfs2 1.2 + additional

Just specify block devices for voting disk and ocr. CRS should open
the block device with the O_DIRECT flag.
OCFS2 has two code trees. The 1.2 tree is the "supported" tree
and build on 2.6.5 (SLES9) and 2.6.9 (EL4). It has some additional
code, like to support "datavolume" mount option.
The other code tree is the mainline kernel. That's where all the new
development happens. However that tree does not have some oracle
specific code, like the aforementioned datavolume mount option.
Most distros, like fc and ubuntu, ship the mainline version of OCFS2.

If you want to use the mainline version of ocfs2, use a raw partition
for the voting disk and ocr.
For the db, specify filesystemio_options=directio in init.ora.

i googled and found this datavolume option was taken from 1.2 but
also it is quite needed for voting disk.I saw the dates of threads
discussing this problem and it is almost 7 to 8 months back.
how to make it work? is any new version available now? or how to fix
it?
