I don't know about USB but I can play 'total annihilation' while my 4x write SCSI Sony
writes a disk... No frisbies so far...

NB Does anyone know if there's an API set for doinf CD writing? Surely with the 
proliferation
of drives now there is a standard control set emerging (I notice that most cd-writing 
packages
seem to need custom drivers for each drive type so this might be a pipe dream)... I 
was thinking
it would be nice to automate a backup service using CDR...
