Short answer: Linux with NAT/MASQ. Its free, its stable as hell, and you
dont have to conifure ANY clients - just tell them that the machine is their
default gateway, and your away - and it works with almost all client apps
(ICQ, RealAudio etc etc etc).

I have a machine at home that dials on demand (using diald), and Masquarads
for 3 people. I have to reset the modem now and again, but thats cos we have
a crap modem that doesn't like our ISP too much.

I also have a machine here with it. The setup is about 10 commands in the
/etc/rc.d/rc.local file (ie, autoexec)

WinGate is OK-ish - they use it at work for 150+ people. You have to setup
proxies, tho, which adds all sorts of fun. Dunno about WinRoute.
