It's free. And well regarded.

I can't quite make my mind up whether AV software is essential or not,
assuming that one has a decent router (with a builtin firewall) or a
software firewall, and practices safe surfing. But if one is going to
use AV software, there is no need to pay for it. There are a number of
good free offerings out there, and I use and am happy with AVG.

It's one of those things that is difficult to test. I'm not aware of
having any virus problems on my PC, but is that due to the fact that I
have AV software installed or just that I haven't been exposed to any
viruses anyway? ;-)

HTH,

Conor

Subject: [DUG-Offtopic] Anti virus software

Hi

My Anti-Virus software is due for renewal. I'm currently using CA, which
- I think - is not too bad. The renewal is US$59.95 for 12 months.

Does any body have any alternative recommendations at all?

Thanks a lot

John C
