I believe (but I may be wrong) that if you enable the Indexing Service on
Windows and check the "Index files with unknown extensions" that it will
work on things like .pas files.

It is a known issue with Windows search that it won't find items in non-MS
files out of the box.

Alternatively, something like Google Desktop Search would work, especially
with a 3rd party plugin like Larry's Any Text File Indexer which will index
things like .pas files.

FWIW, I use Google Desktop Search in preference to the Windows Indexing
Service.

With MS's SEARCH utility you are suppose to be able to look for files
containing certain text. However, when you do a search on a file name *.PAS
and e.g. search for the text "begin" it doesn't find any file at all. The
search seems to work only on TXT and DOC files.

Does anybody know about this at all and has anybody perhaps an idea or
another little utility to do a search on PAS and other source files ?
