Assuming you have run all the recommended Spyware programs and ensured it is
clean, our hardware guy recommends this product
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4180.html
LSP-Fix repairs the Winsock LSP chain by removing the entries left behind
when LSP software is removed by hand (or when errors in the software itself
break the LSP chain), and removing any gaps in the chain.

Worth a try, beware of issues with this when run on a machine with an
out-of-date version of Adaware.

Subject: [DUG-Offtopic]Windows XP problem

I am having miscellaneous problems with my PC, they seemed to start at the
same time, some days ago, and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or can
point me at a good user group for this kind of problem. Possibly around the
time I loaded latest MSN Messenger (v7.5) or a windows update.

Laptop Sony Vaio FR720 (Athlon processor), Windows XP Pro.

Problem - after coming out of suspend the Internet connection dies or goes
very slowly (I mean a broadband connection going slower than dial-up - eg
10/20/30 delay before loading a website or timing out altogether). Other
connections, such as Skype or email make work normally or may be affected as
well - ie it is mainly TCP/IP I think.

Have up-to-date virus protection and Zone-Alarm.

Also - related? Windows security system has stopped warning me about
antivirus updates being available.
Also - related? Zone alarm stopped running automatically with the restart of
the PC, I instead added it to the Startup folder, means it starts a bit
later than it used to.

TCP/IP problems usually get worse over time, a full reboot always fixes it.

John
