While I don't play BF2 I do play Quake 4, Doom 3, rFactor, Nascar 2003 on my Dell 2405 24" LCD with no hint of ghosting.
The only drawback is the response time is real slow (16ms) so playing BattleField 2 wouldn't be fun.
I play rFactor at 1920x1200 but can't run the others (Quake and Doom) at that resolution because I only have an AMD1800+ and 6600GT card. Nascar doesn't support that resolution and uses letter boxing (although you can stretch the output by using a function in the monitor).
