Umm.. The reference to the constitution got snipped so I'm including it
*again*. [2]

Under ARTICLE II. Purpose

"All software produced by the OpenSolaris Community shall be licensed to
the public free of charge under one or more open source licenses
approved by the Open Source Initiative. "

This isn't just me being crazy. (In this context) Someone actually had
it /right/ when they wrote that. Alanc is correct that today this still
needs work. Most of my point is that I think in the next 3-6 months
stuff will get putback which bring this closer to reality. From there
any closed bins can be available in an ips repo. Whether this is a good
goal or not is mostly opinion and sometimes technical. I can fully back
any technical argument about this any day. The rules are already being
broken. I was just hoping to see people work towards the end goal as it
is today rather than change the rules to accommodate a lower standard
for tomorrow. For every email fighting about the constitution we could
have all written some code or helped a newcomer..

All opinions aside.. In the future I would hope there's clear accessible
leadership from Sun so that when someone wants to help can do so in an
efficient manner. The proposed changes are only on /paper/. Even if
the constitution is changed to say we should XYZ.. Clearly it's not
enforcible or respected so what's the point of arguing this so much?

*ding* The OGB has no governing power except to get trivial things
changed on the website. I'm out of this thread since it seems to be a
waste of your time and mine.. Respectfully sorry for trying.
