I am on the OpenSolaris project from Day one (September 14th 2004 IIRC).
This seems to be before what you called "day one[1]" ,-)

In the time between January 2005 and June 2005, there was a real collaboration
between the community and the Sun people and Sun people frequently asked how to 
do things. At that time we had the conclusion that the term "OpenSolaris" 
cannot be used as a name for a distribution. I hope that this agreement is 
still in effect and Sun will not call "Indiana" "OpenSolaris".
