As many know, I've been unsure whether my participation here has been productive or useful to the community itself, and whether I can continue in this same path.
As luck would have it, I've found a task that will provide direct benefit to the OpenSolaris community in the form of code management tools, or rather that task seems to have found me. Either way, my time commitment for that new task along with my one committed project will very likely be such that I will not have time for other work, which includes the OGB. The lucky part is that I now don't have to answer those harder questions. That new task needs my time right now, so I can't just wait until the next election. Thus, I'm resigning my OGB position, per section 6.4, and effective by January 31st. My read of 6.5 and the prior poll results suggests that Ben Rockwood could well be the next on the list, but I'm no Meek (or meek) expert, so I've copied one who should be able to turn that crank again and answer for certain. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <james.d.carlson at sun.com> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677
