That's not too terribly far from the situation here.  The
"ogb-private" discussion is not purely private.  Besides the fact that
there are non-Sun people on the list (all of whom I trust to be
effective whistle-blowers if the list really were used for some
unclean purpose), the list is archived and has been made available to
OGB members.

The point is only to have a virtual hallway discussion among the OGB
members.  If the discussion ever turns to matters that need to be
talked about in public, I expect the members to kick themselves into
doing just that.  Plus, the meetings are open, so if you feel the need
to audit them to keep the members honest, please do so.

If it were "really private," the email messages would self-destruct
after reading, just like Bob Johnson's tape recordings.

Hmm.  Sounds like we've got the seed of a good 1-Apr-2008 RFC.
