I thought that's what this tools-discuss list was for... ? > (Wasn't it you that proposed the talk "Is it hard to contribute to > OpenSolaris? How can we make it easier?") That this will turn into a general Studio support forum, and that it's one more step on the way to creating lists for *everything* that run on an OS or are used in someway for it. Where does one draw the line? Java runs on OpenSolaris and is used as part of the build process... do we have a tools-java list? I just see it as a rapidly escalating problem where, because the OpenSolaris community is responsive (and other products aren't), people will pile on more and more lists onto the OpenSolaris community, thus overloading the few people around who are here to support it. The danger with a broad community like OpenSolaris is that it's very easy to justify extending the boundaries of that community thus extending or overreaching and diluting the actual core community. (and in case it needs to be said, though it shouldn't, this is strictly my personal opinion - not reflective of a Sun employee, or an OGB member) cheers, steve -- stephen lau // stevel at sun.com | 650.786.0845 | http://whacked.net opensolaris // solaris kernel development
