Therefore, WotC is also unethical, for not passing on the freedoms they
received from the tremendous body of public domain mythical and literary
works onto future users of their work.
I'm not aware of any ethical principle that requires you to pass on the
results of your work in the exact manner that the sources you used were
gained in. The usual argument is "you can go back to the original
source, just like I did". And since ALL literature is based on the
cultural gestalt, all literature and related art would be unethical by
this yardstick. Particularly some of the things WotC will be licensing,
like Wheel of Time and Star Wars.
By the way, even the GPL doesn't force you to make your works available
to others.
