Howdy,

Now that the OGL is final we still aren't sure what we should do for
Dunandralis. We are toying with the idea of making Dunandralis a self
contained Open Content world creation project. If we did that, these _might_
be the parameters of Dunandralis. (NOTE: an "X" means that this policy is
already in place).

1X. Dunandralis-l is a public e-mail discussion list that anyone may join.
2X. Dunandralis is run by a committee.
3X. Dunandralis is a world creation project intent on being compatible with
D&D 3E.
3. Dunandralis will have a set of bylaws that binds the elected committee
members and the list members to a certain set of rules and contingencies for
the purpose of legal protection and the assurance of altruistic intent.
4. All posts to Dunandralis will be Open Content, but only for Dunandralis.
5. We will have an open gaming type of license.
6. All content posted to the Dunandralis web site will be free to the public
to use and distribute, but the altering of content or the addition of content
would only be allowed for private use. (For example, someone may not sell or
publicly distribute a module on Dunandralis if they have altered the official
content in any way.)

I believe that this cycle will allow Dunandralis to be in the spirit of Open
Gaming, yet still insure that anything with the Dunandralis name on it will
have gone through the list for critiquing, the Content Department for
consistency, and the Editing Department for quality.

Some questions then:

1. Will we be able to keep our name?
2. Will we be able to stay on a WotC list?
3. Will we be able use the OGL, modify the OGL, or will we have to make up
our own?
4. With these changes would Dunandralis be in the spirit of open gaming?
5. If we follow a different type of OGL will we still be allowed to use the
D20 logo?

I believe that I am speaking for the list when I say that our primary
interest is in creating a D&D 3E compatible world without being unethical,
illegal, or pissing of WotC.

I do plan to hire a lawyer for us if it becomes necessary, but right now that
seems a bit extreme and I would rather discuss this with the open gaming
list. We are, after all, colleagues of a sort. (Plus, most of Dunandralis is
lurking on this list anyway).

Any comments would be appreciated.

Maggie
