>1X. Dunandralis-l is a public e-mail discussion list that anyone may join.

If you're interested, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the
line "sub dunandralis-l (your name)" in the body. :)

>2X. Dunandralis is run by a committee.

Maggie and myself are on that, if you don't know. ;)

>3X. Dunandralis is a world creation project intent on being compatible
>with
>D&D 3E.

And up to *THIS* point, we're just like any other fan-written site. :(

>3. Dunandralis will have a set of bylaws that binds the elected committee
>members and the list members to a certain set of rules and contingencies
>for
>the purpose of legal protection and the assurance of altruistic intent.

Which we would *LOVE* to have some helpful suggestions for, by the way.
(off this list would probably be better.)

>4. All posts to Dunandralis will be Open Content, but only for
>Dunandralis.
>5. We will have an open gaming type of license.
>6. All content posted to the Dunandralis web site will be free to the
>public
>to use and distribute, but the altering of content or the addition of
>content
>would only be allowed for private use. (For example, someone may not sell
>or
>publicly distribute a module on Dunandralis if they have altered the
>official
>content in any way.)

*SELL* is the big one. We just don't want someone making loads of money off
of our creative ideas without us getting *SOMETHING.* Rules and such are
something else, and we'll welcome anyone... but, well, we don't want to be
*THAT* open. (But we *DO* want to, say, be able to make our "cosmology" and
"myth" ideas Open Content.)

>Some questions then:

In the interest of not getting flamed, I'll hold off on answering our own
questions. Some comments, though:

>3. Will we be able use the OGL, modify the OGL, or will we have to make up
>our own?
>4. With these changes would Dunandralis be in the spirit of open gaming?
>5. If we follow a different type of OGL will we still be allowed to use
>the
>D20 logo?

These are both really, REALLY important things we'd like answers for.
Especially #4, as it's an *opinion.*

>I believe that I am speaking for the list when I say that our primary
>interest is in creating a D&D 3E compatible world without being unethical,
>illegal, or pissing of WotC.

Me too. Er, I beleve she's speaking for the list.

>I do plan to hire a lawyer for us if it becomes necessary, but right now
>that
>seems a bit extreme and I would rather discuss this with the open gaming
>list. We are, after all, colleagues of a sort. (Plus, most of Dunandralis
>is
>lurking on this list anyway).

We'd like to hire a lawyer, but... well... we're flat broke, non-profit, and
a recreational activity. *sigh*.
