Honestly, I haven't focused much on how the openness (or lack there of) of my 
projects will effect other d20 creators.  I was trying to put continuity and 
openness together as priorities.  I think the DMs will appreciate the 
continuity more than the openness, so that's what I think I'll aim for.  

Trademark swapping is a good solution but not if one considers the trademark 
an important part of making the world open.  I had hoped to find a way to 
keep a world creation project open _and_ the trademarks open.  But you are 
right.  I can do all of these things at the same time and everyone will be 
happy. D20 creators can have their open content and contributors can have 
their associated trademark by joining the list/group/web site.

I think what will happen is we will see a wide range of projects with many 
different degrees of openness.  The next few years will be interesting, 
that's for sure.
