No, I don't, and I didn't say that. However, the art as a whole is not up to
the usual White Wolf level of quality. It looks like a rush job.
<<I guess I dont know what you mean by "very low
expectations for the quality of the design." Its a
quality hardback book.>>
Not physical quality, but game design quality. A whole gang of authors (some
of whom are friends of mine, and who do good work mind you) try to absorb 3E
and spit back game mechanics in a very short space of time. All this without
access to Monster Manual. So my expectations that the that the monsters will
be well designed is low. Which is not to say that some of the concepts and
descriptions won't be good, I just fear for the gamey parts.
<<And I guess I take exception to another person who
released product early saying that someone else is out
for a quick buck. I woulnt ascribe that motive to you.>>
You should. I decided to do Death in Freeport because I saw an opportunity.
"Gee, the PH comes out and there's no adventure for another month. I bet I
could sell a lot of those."
Now this is not to say that I didn't try to write a good adventure, but I
wouldn't have done it if it wasn't a good business opportunity.
<<To hear you say it is only some crass commercial product bothers me.>>
I guess I'm drawing a distinction between Necromancer and White Wolf. To me,
the CC totally looks like White Wolf making a crassly commercial product. I
expect the Necromancer products to be put together with more care, since I
know you guys have been working on them for awhile.
<<Besides, whatever money is made on this project will
hardly repay the hours from 6 to 1 am that I spend
every night on this stuff, pissing off my wife and
making myself sick from lack of sleep. Believe me,
this is a labor of love. I assume it is the same for
you guys.>>
Welcome to the game industry. :)
