Gods, talk about a paragraph full of invalid assumptions (I'll have to
check the full article to see if this is representative)

a)Not everyone can design their own rules THAT WORK.
b)Not everyone wants to.
c)One of the benefits of open source is not rules per se, but 'game lego'
-- monsters, spells, classes, feats, skills. I don't know about y'all, but
I'm not about to design 600+ original monsters. I'll happily buy the
Creature Collecions, Atlas Games monster book, etc, though.
d)Since people were ALWAYS free to write their own game rules, I don't see
what the issue is. All open source does is permit people to freely share
without a lot of tedious licensing, permission, etc. The right to use
freely is granted by the OGL.
