Personally, I've always liked the tendency of publishers to describe upcoming
products in books even if they haven't shipped yet (or haven't even been
designed yet). Spawn of Fashan has some great upcoming products listed on
the last page:
"Bunga! Bunga! Bunga! -- a total strategy game without dice. If you can picture
an original design, appearing to be an equal mix of Cosmic Encounters/War of
the Ring/Diplomacy and Third Reich, and yet is none of them, you have Bunga!"
"Deadlock is the next evolution of chess, and yet it is not. If you have ever
wanted to play a game that is unlike anything else you have ever played,
Deadlock is your game. ... Deadlock is a truely classic design; a game of pure
strategy that can be played in 30 minutes to an hour. Its like may never be
seen again; it is that good."
"City Council is a most unusual game of small-town politics. Have you ever
wanted to dictate orders to your neighbors? To tell the ward councilman just
what you thought of him? This is your chance. ... If you enjoy government
process in any way, you will like City Council."
