There's a reason technical language evolved -- it's unambiguous, at
least as far as the courts are concerned (well, up to a point). 

Here's a "Plain English" license:

"You can, like, use some of this stuff, except the stuff that's really
unique, and make things from it, and then you have to let other people
do the same thing, except for the parts this doesn't cover, like, you
know, characters and stuff, unless they're, like not really all that
original."

Clear enough for you?
