First, thanks to Ryan and WotC for a great start on the SRD.

I haven't had a chance to look over the SRD yet but I agree it
would be nice to have a playable game based on it.

I've been thinking about massaging the SRD text into Latex2e,
filling in some gaps with my own broken prose, adding some
bells and whistles (some examples, table of contents, index, etc)
and releasing it in various formats (ps, pdf, html, tex source)
back as 100% Open Game Content under the OGL.

I even thought Annotated System Reference Document (ASRD) would
be a nice name (ala C++ ARM). The beauty is interested parties
don't need to coordinate closely or argue about what goes in.
You can make John's ASRD and I can make Kal's ASRD and Blablabla
can make Blablabla's ASRD. If people release enough good stuff
as Open Game Content, it would not be long before there is a
really useful document available.
