| That sounds cool and I definitely think you can distill the rules down. The
problem is the content. How can you condense descriptions of the spells, feats, monsters, etc, you might need while on the road? If players are really familiar with them they might just need the barest bones, but if you want a bit of a standalone then it might swell a bit. Of course you might not need a lot of the tactical info since people are likely to be using their imaginations as opposed to minatures or counters. I think keeping dice would be part of the fun but maybe you can figure a way to just have the d20 so you would have a single die to worry about and your character card and a booklet (and pencil?).
