I see. Now you only count if you publish for profit. Nice attitude.

I run a multi-million dollar company. The risk and rewards of licensing
various kinds of IP are something that I weigh every day. My idea of a day
off is knocking off early on Sunday afternoon. You'll have to excuse me
that I've only written three OGC articles, built a searchable full-text,
XML, and HTML version of the SRD, and contacted two lawyers to figure out
how to legally release them as OGC software in my spare time. When I sell
off my company and retire, I'll probably "sit on my butt" and write games.
If I do, and I do it under the OGL, I will have made damn sure I can do
everything I want to do without clashing over IP with Hasbro.

I'm disappointed. You're usually much more scrupulous with the facts than
that Clark. Nobody has alleged horrible content. I said that placing
protected-IP monsters in the SRD might be more trouble for 3rd party
developers than it was worth, and gave examples of why. I also questioned
the wisdom of fragmenting the existing MM monsters into different
interpretations, and asked if people thought it would hurt or harm D&D.
Neither of these opinions were "whiney gripes", they are simply examining
the issues for a *DRAFT* version of the SRD and trying to determine what can
and can't be done.

I'm also putting my money where my mouth is and finding out what CAN be done
with descriptions and software, rather than just spouting off with angry
hyperbole at anonymous targets.
