OK I hit on a solution.
If the hang up is the word "exactly" and we are
worried people will have to put in my placeholders,
then how about this:
Instead of my placeholder stuff in section 15, I put
this in my license:
OPEN GAME LICENSE Version 1.0a
The following text is the property of Wizards of the
Coast, Inc. and is Copyright 2000 Wizards of the
Coast, Inc. ("Wizards"). All Rights Reserved.
[snip]
14. Reformation: If any provision of this License is
held to be unenforceable, such provision shall be
reformed only to the extent necessary to make it
enforceable.
Then, instead of a section 15 there at the end I put
"For section 15 information, see the bottom of the
page of each specific monster"
Then, on the bottom of the page of the mosnter,
instead of doing only half of the section 15 stuff, I
put it all:
On the bottom of the kamadan, instead of:
15. Copyright Notice
Author Scott Greene, based on original material by
Nick Louth.
I now put:
15. Copyright Notice
Open Game License v 1.0a Copyright 2000, Wizards of
the Coast, Inc.
System Reference Document Copyright 2000, Wizards of
the Coast, Inc.; Authors Jonathan Tweet, Monte Cook,
Skip Williams, based on original material by E. Gary
Gygax and Dave Arneson.
Kamadan from the Tome of Horrors Copyright 2002,
Necromancer Games, Inc., Author Scott Greene, Erica
[name] and Clark Peterson, based on original material
by Nick Louth.
That means that you cant combine entries any more. You
would have to do a new one for each monster. But it
accomplishes my purpose.
Clark
