Over on EN World they've got a vaguely alarming bit of news:

It would seem that WOTC legal thinks (contrary to previously held
beliefs) that game mechanics *can* be copyrighted, independent of the actual
wording. How will this affect further game mechanic development?
Anybody official-like (or not) care to comment?
