If you're looking for the functional particulars of the metal-- hardness,
hit points, weight, etc.-- there is OGC in my book (Heroes of High Favor:
Dwarves).

It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but the route I took was to
provide all the ways to change the "rules" behind various types of metals--
with iron as the default.

So for example, if you add hardness, hit points, and a natural enhancement
bonus, you end up with an alloy that most folks call "adamantine." If you
add hardness and reduce weight, you have a substance most call "mithral."

By the same token you could add 1 or 2 points of hardness and/or HP and
upgrade "iron" to "steel," or even "dwarven steel." Just tweak the
functional particulars as you desire, and give a name to the final alloy.
Orichalcum. Baatorian Steel. Whatever you like.

If you would like the specific open content, I would be happy to email it to
you.
