>From my perspective, this is such a mess because of the focus on
accommodating OpenGL extensions and the peculiar run-time loading of
same.  We avoid extensions, so I have no guidance to offer.  But I am
following the discussion because I am interested in Linux OpenGL.
Perhaps other ISVs will offer some insight.
