This issue doesn't appear to occur in any of the 2011 nightlies. This might be
attributed formerly to when I started using the "Battle menus wait for attack
animations" bitset, or possibly when I switched over to the DirectX - Native
builds which have smoother sounds for starters and no stutter/lag when the
music loops.
