It seems impossible that bf5b3d is the cause as I'm pretty sure it changed
nothing. More likely you just haven't managed to reproduce it in 1150383 by
chance. Also, are you resetting autotest.rpgdir before testing each commit?
The most likely explanation really does look like the infamous race condition
in the mac OS `rename` function, racing with the code immediately after our
`renamefile` calls, which tries to open some of the renamed files.
