Also - the Robert Stanek situation was news to me. We're certainly thinking 
more 
and more about straightforward spam prevention, like, nofollow on external 
links, or asking people to do captchas at relevant times.

The example Alan posted initially is probably the most annoying/prevalent spam 
type on OL. Since the IP addresses shift often and without pattern, it's very 
hard to prevent. But, we could add some validation to a few data entry fields, 
like, 'don't allow HTML in publish date' field, but that's really post-spam.
