A quick Google search leads me to a thread on the Adobe Forums [0]
that you must have found too :)
The error message appears to say there is a problem at the 'content
server' side.
After your message, there's one from Mike Andrew McCabe (I'm assuming
the same as [1], an admin) saying "Try it now!  I think we've fixed
the issue."

Indeed, the first book I tried (from the homepage, the ones on your
list aren't available in my area) downloaded and opened correctly -
using a fresh install of ADE, it didn't work in Sony Reader for PC
(even though other e-books from my local, eh, national library do load
in Reader for PC).

Is the problem 'officially' solved?
