Well I've resorted to installing Windows and Adobe Digital Editions. I downloaded the pdf for Five Years and was able to actually start to read it.
But I shut down Windows and started it again and *POP* Five Years is no longer in ADE. The only thing there is "Getting Started with ADE." OpenLibrary still shows I have it checked out, and will not let me Return it. It refers me to ADE. But ADE has forgotten about it. WTH now?
