hmm...I haven't been all that way inside the dash on the '77, I'll have to
look for that

the '84 used a one-piece bulb that has little two metal zits on the base,
when you put the bulb in the socket and rotate the zits are what keep the
bulb in the socket

so no plastic holders as you mention on an '84, at least to my recollection

that's some _really_ useful knowledge
