Randy,
Let's say a head did need replaced. The dealer would have/should have
replaced both heads to keep the compression the same on both sides of the
motor.
Remember, #8's have those huge 79cc combustion chambers.
I didn't pay attention to that. Okay, from past experience, I can tell you
what a dealer would do in that case. If a head had to be replaced, the
dealer would ***never*** install a #8 to replace a #6. It would not happen.
If a new head was not available from GM, the dealer would get a #6 head from
a salvage yard. The dealer would not screw up the engine by replacing both
heads and lowering the CR. It simply wouldn't happen, never, no how.
So, that's a '73-'76 350 in a '70 Cutlass convertible. The seller is lying.
It's not numbers matching, unless someone really and truly committed fraud
and altered the numbers to match.
