Just remember guys, that 400HP will be gutless anyway... up to 3500rpm or
even 4000.
I had a 355 with a nice cam, Edelbrock RPM intake, big Hookers and almost
free exhaust.
There was not much power ( torque rather ) before 3500rpm and a LOT of
screaming pushing force after, up to 6000rpm. The engine was still pulling
strong at 6000 but I was too afraid to follow. Twice maybe I pulled up to
6500 and nothing has broken, but it was a play with gunpowder with stock
pistons and stock oiling system - well, heads had a carefully polished
channel and nicely ported the oil returns...

I'd love to know the specs on a 350 engine that makes 400HP. Sometime
during
the summer I'll be taking my 350 down to the engine shop for a rebuild,
and
400HP sounds pretty darn cool.
Of course, given the gutless wonder that it was PRIOR to removing it from
the car, 300HP sounds pretty darn good too...
