The expensive bit for me will be the (custom) forged pistons, since flat- tops ain't gonna be boost-friendly. I could get away with using flat- tops and big-block or #8 (or 403 4A) heads. That would drop the compression to a more boost-friendly number. Shooting for 8.0:1 - 8.5:1.


You're confusing me. To get 8-1 CR, you need a flat top piston. You also need forged pistons to handle the pessure from the turbos. So what's the problem? You will need to design a flat top forged piston to work in your application and have Ross, J&R, Arias, BRC, etc. make it. In your case, it will be a neat piston, since it will be down in the hole enough that you won't need valve releifs cut.
