What does the big balancer look like? I bought a 70 350 off eBay a year or
so back and it has a weird looking balancer that has a 3/4" "lip" that
extends beyond the pulley, is this a W-31 balancer?
Is there any other way to identify a W-31 engine?

That sounds equipped alot like the one I have here. It has the W 25 hood
and air cleaner, 4 speed, all the suspension stuff, etc. But no balancer
and a couple other pieces that keep it from being a true W 31.

I had no paperwork to say it was a real W31. I sold it to a guy from
Florida in Feb. 2000. Maybe it is the same car. It originally came from
Idaho, then to SLC, then to AZ. We were the third owners, supposedly.
Original owner had it from '70 to '97. It was a clean solid, stock car
that
ran really well.
Karl Sup in Mesa, AZ, a list member has a NOS big W31 balancer. Maybe he
can take a pic and take some measurements. Karl, are you here??
