Neil,
Ok so far the heads are an E
'69-'70 455.
the side and F4 68 at one end
455 block cast from a casting mold that was manufactured in 1968.
I do have the intake but haven't measured it
yet I do know that it is a two brl intake
Yes, you have a 2 bbl 455 engine. You don't need to worry about the
dimensions of the intake manifold.
and that the markings on the
pistons is a v notch denoting 350ci high compression
NO! I don't care what your shop manual says. It's either a misprint or
you're misreading something.
The "V" notch means only one thing, that notch on the edge of the piston
MUST point toward the front of the engine during engine assembly when using
OEM factory pistons.
Compression ratio is determined by how deep the dish is in the top of the
piston. If you don't know the depth of that dish, you have no idea what the
compression ratio of the engine is.
check and next to the oil filler tube is 396021F
'70-'72 455 block.
You have a 1970 455 with a 2 bbl. The compression ratio is yet to be
determined. That's it, period.
