Tom, I used the same cam on my BBO - 10.2 CR, 800 CFM Holley, HS Rockers - bad stuff: manifolds, 2" exhaust (but at least mandral bent SS w/ dynomax) and stock 442 TC. It's running through a built up TH350 w/ 3:73 gears.
According to Lunati, the idle is only fair - I think it's pretty smooth. I only have about 100 miles on the engine, but it's a sweet one. Probably not up to many on the list's standards, but I think it's great. Lunati did recommend a TC more like yours. That will come in the future, along with a 2.5" to 3" exhaust.
