We're talking about OM Lx 3 not 2014.1 here. 3 computers with Intel graphics. The Desktop boots to fast to see if Plymouth is working but the 2 Notebooks (both I5 processors) are noticeably slower and on both Plymouth stops working at some point after installing. As I recall they start out with Plymouth working but at some point after either updating or adding packages Plymouth ceases to work. Other than the obvious that I need to do one more install to verify that it was working initially and then at some point stops I'm wondering if there is anything to do to correct this? Anyone have ideas how to debug this?

Packages that I add include:

thunderbird firefox cursor_themes mplayer-gui mplayer-skins gecko-mediaplayer icewm icedtea-web xguest nano vim-X11 vim-enhanced spamassassin-tools spamassassin-spamc spamassassin-spamd flash-player-plugin task-plasma ksnapshot kwrite and maybe clamav clamtk task-hawaii papyros-shell

Plymouth isn't important to me, especially while testing, but I don't want us releasing .iso's without it working as this generates bad publicity, bad impressions for new users, and bad user comments all over the Internet.

plymouth is buggy since 2014.0 ;) with proprietary driver and vbox.
it is a bit of time that we do bad impression

Great now I get to go install it again on Notebook to verify above.
