I guess the way this is written it looks like I'm blaming plymouth but that isn't my intention. I'm trying to report what a new user might see upon trying OM Lx 3 Alpha for first time. What I see is that initially plymouth does work but at some point it stops working. I now have a notebook where I've installed (OM Lx 3 Alpha) and configured it and run for days and plymouth still works. The only difference on that computer is that I haven't installed any kernel or kernel-devel version. No idea why installing a kernel would affect this.

On my computers, all have Intel graphics, plymouth works on 2014.1. Did not know about issue regarding sddm and OM Lx 3 Alpha.

Please stop blaming plymouth everytime.
In case of Lx 3 alpha this is sddm issue, which does not support plymouth smooth transition, or imho do it in wrong way.

In case of 2014.1, blame Oracle for VirtualBox, where pressing ESC button does not drop to text console when plymouth is running. With Nvidia drivers everything works fine for me, so plymouth is working and i can ESC it.
