I use it I find it helpful for gcc options and some the less used gnu tools. As has been pointed out it is tiny and one could just install pinfo beside it. Removing it might upset a few. I think that the problem with this kind of change is that somebody installs our OS some time late they read a manual page that says that 'the information provided is a summary' for more information use the info tool' so our poor user does 'info utils' and what does he get? 'No such file or directory'! This does not leave a good impression. Many man pages mention the info tool. Food for thought... Best, Colin
