ciao :)
well, i make every the energy saving mode on for a black screen/ making
off the monitor only behind 10 Minutes inactivity.. but the kscreensaver
with pictures it's well so far.. imho.. if this works.. and able to
configuring.
But, it make's also sence , because the Picture can suggerate a well felling..
if it's starts and they see, it's so far well configuring .. with mind ..

My idea:
1. Do not require xscreensaver at all
2. Adapt kscreenlocker QML script to display images from
distro-theme-OpenMandriva-screensaver
3. Everybody is happy
Here is the QML:
https://github.com/KDE/kscreenlocker/blob/master/greeter/fallbacktheme/LockScreen.qml#L49
Patch should provide a function that will display in name
order images from /usr/share/mdk/screensaver/
Function should display next image after X seconds.
in
this way it is not customizable
are you sure all users like images, or someone want his images,
or someone do not want images?

KDE4 has a native screensaver, afaik Plasma5
has not.

That's fine - as long as xscreensaver
doesn't screenlock on its own? Then that's just
doing the same thing as KDE's, just with a much
uglier dialog.

Screensaver is different
from screen locker, you know.
I'd rather prefer xscreensaver doing the
screensaver job - feature
screenlocker *disabled* - and screen locker its
own (enabled or
disabled by default I personally don't care that
much, although my
preference goes to disabled and users turn it on
if they need)
