While Slack is a wonderful tool, I'll point out that it has several drawbacks when it comes to cross-community communication and does have issues with how people have to be invited into the system, even if using an 'invite-bot'. The other issue I, personally, have with it is the account explosion you end up with if you have to deal with multiple "teams".
