Thanks for your response. We try to find some information from Optimization Framework and find there is only proposal page in wiki. We would like to know if Optimization Framework will not deliver anything for R1,because Pam the Policy PTL also mentioned that the Optimization Framework isn’t targeted for R1. If so, VF-C may not consider depending on OF, because there is no much time for R1. But we will continue to focus on this project and learn more details about OF, hopefully we can integrate with OF project in R2. Yes, calling OF is optional but would be very helpful in placing VMs. Let me give an example: Assume that we need to spin up a VNF �C that needs to connected to a customer premise equipment. In that VF-C calls OF, the input being (1) customer location and (2) list of data centers (3) VNF requirement (like CPU, memory) (4) customer requirements (like latency). The OF consults applicable data sources, does an optimization �C both at cloud level and network levels and provides a subset of data centers where the VNF can be deployed. Copying a couple of my colleagues so that they may chime in as well. We will be starting weekly calls on OF next week �C please participate. In VF-C,VNFM will send a Resource Granting request to NFVO,NFVO will make a decision according the requested parameters and return a vimid to VNFM. I think ,during above process, VF-C may call the OF service API to get the decision on which VIM can be used to deploy VNF.
