[Winona Online Democracy]

Hello Lee and Others,

The idea of creating some kind of community gathering around the topic(s)
of "Who Owns Democracy?" is an incredible one.

I would be very willing to help.

Is anyone else interested?

What would we need to do next? What questions should we be asking? Could
we create some ad hoc community group or network to discuss issues like
these? It would be nice to have partisans but to make the event's format
non partisan...if that's possible.

The event involving the MN Humanities Commission, the Learning Club of WSU,
and Gene Pelowski's class sounds wonderful. We, as a community, should do
more of that.

I think it's important that we discuss these issues ourselves instead of
passively watching and reading sound bites on television and in newspapers.
It's not good in terms of learning or democracy.

P.S. Has anyone read the book, "Who Will Tell the People"?
