[Winona Online Democracy]

Hello Winona Online Democracy,

I wanted to write and state I strongly agree with Paul Double's points.

This past election has revealed many forms of "rust" in our election process.

Isn't it sad and scary that in the past it's been common and accepted to
have thousands of ballots not counted in counties all across the country?

Someone else made an excellent point, he suggested we should have a machine
that can immediately tell the voter if their ballot was filled out
correctly. If there is some kind of error, the voter could fill out a
clean ballot. We can put people on the moon but we can't count votes?!

Also, Paul's points about the DFL primary is another good point. There is
an organization called, "Minnesota Fair Vote" that has many comments and
suggestions for the DFL primary race and all elections in general.

Minnesota Fair Vote's web page is:
http://www2.bitstream.net/~gabeo/fvhome.html

Myself and a few others are trying to bring a speaker from this
organization to come to Winona and talk about our most recent elections and
election reform ideas.

Would anyone else be interested in helping plan this event?

To me, it's a non-partisan issue that affects all of us and would benefit
all citizens.

Thanks,

Dwayne Voegeli
