[Winona Online Democracy]

Interesting discussions these last few days. I guess I will add my two
cents to the fray.

I think they are both right.

If the Boy Scouts don't won't homosexuals to be the role models for their
sons, I say "More power to them." The Supreme Court agrees with them.
However, there is a price to be paid.

If the United Way has a policy that prevents them from given money to any
group that discriminates, for any reason, "More power to them. It's their
money." If you don't agree with their policy, don't give them your money.

If the Boy Scouts, or any other group wants money from an organization
(govenmental or otherwise), they must play by that organizations rules.

However, to associate the Boy Scouts with the KKK, I think is a little
extreme. Any privately-funded group should be able to associate with
whomever they desire. If I formed a group, I certainly wouldn't want the
government to tell me who I must, or must not admit as members. That is,
unless I am asking the government to support me. In that case I have to
compromise.
