[Winona Online Democracy] My policy is the other driver has the right away; at least on my street, because I don't want to get hit. I have only been in Winona for a little over 4 years and on the corner by my house (unmarked intersection), I have seen many accidents and too many near misses. In fact, there was just another accident about a week ago with a motor cycle. Since this is also an industrial area, there is a lot of traffic on my street and no one slows down at the corners and no one is doing the speed limit. There are also many children in this area, with a day care across the street from me not to mention the children that live on this street, and too many drivers not caring how fast they are going. I know that these drivers at least once in their lives knew the laws of driving because they had to take the test to get their licenses, but it seems that once they have that they forget everything. And I'm not talking only about teenagers, most are adults that think they know how to drive because they've been doing it for so long. I just hope that no one ever gets hurt on my corner.
