Defending ourselves from attack does not include bombing an already poor, 3d World Country further back into the Stone Age some 3 1/2 months later. That is nothing short of vengeance. Perhaps a necessary act at times (although i personally have my doubts. As a friend of mine said shortly after the 11th; "two wrongs don't make a right"), but let's not call it self-defense when it is after the fact. Self-defense, by definition, is the force needed to repel an imminent attack not a retaliation afterwards.
